Triple-S Compost begins 2020 with top worker safety award
Triple-S Compost has been recognized for worker safety with the Platinum Safety Partner Award from Texas Mutual Insurance Co. The award honors top-tier workplace safety among the company’s policyholders, regardless of industry. According to Texas Mutual, only 200 of its more than 72,000 Texas policyholders are so honored, placing winners in the top 0.28 percent of policyholders.
“At Triple-S Compost, we’re committed to continuous safety improvements for our team, our customers and everyone in between,” said Triple-S Compost’s Matt Niccum. “We believe safety is just good business, and it’s an honor to be recognized for worker safety on this level.”
Dave Nelson, Sprint Waste Services president, accepted the award on behalf of Sprint Waste as well as sister companies Triple-S Compost, Sprint Transport, Sprint Fort Bend County Landfill and Sprint Montgomery County Landfill. Nelson said the award speaks to Sprint’s laser focus on safe operations across the entire organization.
“We’re honored to be recognized for our safety efforts across these Sprint companies,” Nelson said. “No matter where we do business, safe and healthy operations for every member of our team are the foundation of our business. With hundreds of trucks and thousands of pieces of equipment in operation for our customers, we appreciate the opportunity to partner with Texas Mutual to improve the quality of our safety programs.”
The Texas Mutual award program promotes worker health and safety through its Work Safe, Texas program by recognizing policyholders with a demonstrated commitment to employee safety and loss prevention. Eric Bourquin, Texas Mutual’s vice president of safety services, said Sprint and Triple-S were selected for the award “because you provide the resources necessary to protect employees from workplace hazards, which is reflected by your outstanding safety record. Simply put, it is clear that safety is a core value in your organization.”
